My Angry Aggressive Child

Q:  My 12-year-old son has turned into an aggressive, angry lying child.  He was, until a month ago, an open, caring and truthful child.  I am at my wits end and I have lost all patience.  When my husband and I divorced 6 years ago, we had the help of a counselor so I'm not opposed to seeing one again. Please help.

Choose. Decide. Pick: Language That Builds Cooperation, or Not?

Q: I came across this in my son's school newsletter and found it very interesting. It is from Chuck Moorman's book, Parent Talk: How to Talk to Your Children in Language that Builds Self-Esteem and Encourages Responsibility. I wonder what you think of this idea?

Democratic Parenting: What is it really?

Q: I hear so much about democratic and positive parenting. Are they the same thing and if not, what is democratic parenting?

Sibling Jealousies.

Q: I have two daughters. When one is doing something well, the other is unhappy. She reacts by either trying to out-win her sister, or she acts up by misbehaving. I know sibling rivalry is normal, but I think this goes beyond that and is really nasty jealousy. What can I do?
